BE IT ORDAINED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Lakewood, State of New Jersey as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter II, Of The Revised General Ordinances Of The Township Of Lakewood, 1999, Entitled “Administration” Is Hereby Amended In Section § 2-47.8 Entitled “Compensation”:

§ 2-47.8Compensation.

[1971 Code § 2-24.8; New; Ord. No. 2004-3 § 1; Ord. No. 2005-31 § 1]

Members of the Municipal Utilities Authority shall be compensated for the performance of their duties commencing February 1, 2005 2022, as follows:

a.  Chairman - $5,000.00 $15,0000 annual salary

b.  All other members - $5,000.00 $15,000 annual salary

These salaries are to be paid from the fees collected by the Municipal Utilities Authority.

Members of the Municipal Utilities Authority shall be reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred in the discharge of their duties; provided, that in the event that any member of the Authority shall also be employed as an Officer or Agent of the Authority, then such member shall also receive such additional compensation for his services as such Officer or Agent as shall be hereafter determined by resolution of the Authority

SECTION 3.  That all ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SECTION 4.  If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence or any part of this ordinance is adjudged unconstitutional or invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder of this Ordinance not directly involved in the controversy in which such judgment shall have been rendered.

SECTION 5.  This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and publication as required by law.
