WHEREAS, the Lakewood Township Police Department wished to apply for funding of approximately $32,400 and the municipality will provide Fringe Benefits ($96,728.21)  as the match for a project under the State of New Jersey Safe and Secure Communities Grant Program, Grant #21-1515 with an effective date of February 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023; and

WHEREAS, the Township Committee of the Township of Lakewood has reviewed the accompanying application and has approved said request; and

WHEREAS, the project is a joint effort between the Department of Law and Public Safety and the Lakewood Township Police Department for the purpose described in the application;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Lakewood that:

1.  As a matter of public policy the Lakewood Township Police Department wished to participate to the fullest extent possible with the Department of Law and Public Safety.

2. The Attorney General will receive funds on behalf of the applicant under Grant #21-1515 with an effective date of February 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023.

3. The NJ Department of Law & Public Safety, Office of he Attorney General shall be responsible for the receipt and review of the applications for said funds.

4. The NJ Department of Law & Public Safety, Office of he Attorney General shall initiate allocations to each applicant as authorized.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Township Clerk shall forward a certified copy of this resolution to the following:

A.        Township Manager;

B.        Chief Financial Officer;

C.        Township Auditor;
